Dabur India Limited Pledges to Cut Added Sugars in Its Beverages

Dabur India Limited is committed to reducing the amount of added sugars in its beverages!

In the latest phase of its sugar reduction program, Dabur plans to lower added sugars by an average of 3% across two-thirds of its beverage range.

Since 2019, the company has been progressively reformulating its Real fruit juices, achieving notable reductions: 5.4% in the first phase, followed by 7.5% and 6.7% in the subsequent phases.

As a leading player in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, Dabur aims for a 3% average reduction in added sugars across two-thirds of its beverage portfolio, as detailed in its annual report.

The company began its phased reformulation strategy in 2019 to lower sugar content in its Real juice lineup, successfully completing three phases of sugar reduction across its top eight juice variants, resulting in a total decrease of 20.95% in added sugars.

This reduction equates to approximately 1,300 metric tons less sugar consumed annually.

“Our Foods & Beverages division is focused on reducing sugar content in our products while preserving taste and quality. This reflects our commitment to providing healthier options for our consumers,” the report stated.
