Rasmalai ranks second on the list of world’s best cheese desserts

Rasamalai isn’t confined to local admiration; it has garnered global recognition!

TasteAtlas has honored it with the title of ‘Top 10 Best Cheese Desserts across the World’, ranking it an impressive second. This delightful delicacy, hailing from Bengal, follows closely behind Poland’s Sernik, a baked cheesecake crafted with twarog cheese.

Bengal’s very own Rasamalai, a beloved dessert with its origins dating back to undivided Bengal in the 19th century, holds the esteemed position of being the second-best cheese dessert in the world.

K.C Das Grandsons assert that their founder, Krishna Chandra Das, is credited with inventing Rasmalai. Yet, the narrative takes another turn with the emergence of Bangladesh’s Comilla district. The Sen siblings from Matri Bhandar assert themselves as the true originators, highlighting their contribution to the widespread adoption and commercialization of the dessert. They have gone as far as seeking a Geographical Indication (GI) tag for ‘Comillar Rosmalai’.
