Veneto

Arches and brick walls, white drapes, life-size Cupid installations hanging from the ceiling, customised furniture, a 30ft bar made with art stone and adorned with tipple bottles and cooking ingredients, reminded us of the innumerable trattorias dotting the streets of Italy when we walked inside Veneto in South City Mall. Inspired by the Italian food served on the streets of Venetia or Venice, Veneto is a 56-seater Italian restaurant by Amit and Vanita Bajoria who are also the franchisees of Lord of the Drinks and Hard Rock Cafe Kolkata. The interiors of Veneto have been done by Aditi Jain, in keeping with the concept of a modern-day upscale trattoria

SodaBottleOpenerWala

SodaBottleOpenerWala by the Olive group is a concept that is unique to India. It is your quintessential Bombay Irani Café and bar with all its idiosyncrasies in place and brings forth the dying legacy of the wonderful, bustling, colorful, quirky, cluttered, eccentric and so real world of an Irani café. SBOW serves Parsi cuisine, food gems that sparkle on the streets of Bombay and old-world clubs.

The design of SodaBottleOpenerWala is old world, colonial and humorous. It is our take on the Parsi-style Freddie Mercury meets Monty Python. The eccentricity and mirth evokes spontaneous laughter over the signature large blackboard touting the ‘Rules of the establishment’ like No Laughing Loudly. No Talking to Cashier. No feet on chair. No flirting. No Pata Hai Main Kaun Hoon and is a constant feature in all the SodaBottleOpenerWala properties.

Ware House Café

A finest addition to the chain of First Fiddle Restaurants, Warehouse Café offers a relaxed atmosphere to unwind with no set rules.
With a height of 22 ft picturesque interiors, 30ft long bar, and live performances by proficient artists, the pub is set to offer the urban taste and lifestyle.
Vanita Bajoria and Mr. Amit Bajoria, who brought the Hard Rock Café and Lord of the Drinks franchises to Kolkata and now own their own Italian Restaurant, Veneto, will be the franchisees of Warehouse Café, Kolkata in South City Mall.
Warehouse Cafe’s diverse menu is curated to satisfy your palates. Everything from Middle Eastern cuisine to Italian and even Japanese dishes with an intention of upholding the brand’s ethos of providing a memorable dining experience. Every dish, whether Crystal
Dumpling, Tacos and Quesadillas, Pav Bun and Roll, Sizzlers, Pasta Bowl, Big Plate or Small Plates, is prepared with a contrivance of fresh ingredients aiming to take its patrons on a culinary thriller. Guests can begin with delectable appetisers from the Small Plates menu,
such as Lucy Cheesy Wonton, Truffle and Parmesan Fries, Kadai Paneer Nachos, Spring Rolls, and many more.
Turkish and Middle Eastern cuisines are rich in kebab delicacies, and some of the favourites are Harissa Kebab, Chicken Joojeh Kebab, and Kebab Platter. The Pasta Bowls of Penne Alfredo, Penne Pesto, Aglio Olio, Penne Arrabiata, and Spaghetti Carbonara are available, as are a variety of Pizzas, all are sure to leave the Italian lovers satiated.

Scrapyard Brewing Co.

A new fantastic ‘microbrewery’ restaurant, Scrapyard Brewing Co opened on the 4th floor of the South City Mall of Kolkata. The ‘microbrewery’ restaurant which is spread across 4,000 ft sq is broadly divided into indoor and outdoor seating. If the indoor seating has an industrial touch like its first outlet, the outside wears a more relaxed vibe with fountains, plants and colourful seating. The 260-covers chill spot has a multicuisine food menu that boasts of over 70 dishes and heady cocktails that will get you charged up. So, till the time the microbrewery license comes through you can make the most with their sip menu.

South City Mall specifically is very happy with the inclusion of Scrapyard. “South City Mall had envisioned to create a new destination for Kolkata, which gets filled with Scrapyard coming on board. We were decided on getting a microbrewery with a destination to party and Scrapyard, operating the microbrewery in the heart of city came out as one of the best choices and is greatly connected with the patrons in Kolkata too. Now South City Mall has got five lounges apart from six dining options. The open terrace shall be a place to be,” said Man Mohan Bagree, vice-president, South City Group.

Scrapyard Brewing Co.

All you Kolkata’s Hail the Lord! because the Lord of the Drinks is finally here at South City and we can’t keep calm. The famous Delhi based chain is raising the bar with its tallest bar ever in Kolkata. Yes, that’s 40 inches tall and huge stacked with bottles of liquor.

We were mesmerized by the breath-taking interiors it has to offer. 22 lion heads, 16 grand Chandeliers, Gold framed mirrors, Black n White chequered flooring, Green n Lavender shaded High chairs and large comfy sofas altogether is a visual treat as soon as you enter the place.

LOTD is known for its drinks and how can we not try their signature cocktails. We started with a vodka-based drink known as My 18th Birthday infused with popcorn syrup, butterscotch ice-cream, white chocolate and a cone of ice-cream topped with popcorns. From the booze-free zone, we had Signature Champ which is a concoction of Orange and Pomegranate juice. It’s simply refreshing.

The Thai Chicken Spring Rolls, Smoky Chilly Fish and Charcoal Dimsums were our selection for the appetizers. Moving on we had the Chicken Tikka Pizza and loved the fact that it has a perfect Indian taste to it with a generous amount of cheese. You can have a cheese pull here.

Also, they have got huge options for the mains where you get Thai Curry, Butter Chicken and so on.
