The India Story, A Neotia Arts Trust Initiative – A curated showcase

The India Story has been the most awaited event on the city’s calendar for the past seven years. The eighth edition is going on from January 12 to 14 at Swabhumi.

An initiative by the Neotia Arts Trust, the three-day long extravaganza presented by Chivas Glassware showcases labels from across the country. It not just covers every aspect of lifestyle, but there are food stalls for hungry shoppers, live performances to keep the afternoons and evenings entertaining.

This season designer labels such as The Missy Co., Puneet Kapoor label, Zohra, Twenty-Seven-Eleven, Cosa Nostraa, Cal Calcutta, Notebook, Our Love, Blush, Abkasa, House of Dreams, The tribe, Viva La Veda and many more are participating in Fashion and Lifestyle category at Raas Manch and Rangmanch.

Vanity Wagon showcases all Kokata-based skincare brands like Auli, Personal Touch Skincare, Har Koi, Color Chemistry and Shibel.

The Farmer’s Market displays the secret of the nature by different brands like Chef Tedee, Butterfingers by Preetanjali, Kanoria, Maskaa, Loafed, Crunch & Munch, Garden Fresh, Fernweh, Mama Mona, The Frozen Tree, The Oil Chemist, Fresh Aisle and various other.

The handpicked and exclusive labels aside, there are some fab handicrafts and indigenous arts from the numerous NGOs who came this year are Matra, Kadam Haath, Ek Tara, Dakshini Prayash, Shuktara Cakes, Skilled Samaritan Foundation, Farmer’s Pride and Humtree.

A big draw at the event has been the series of installations by Thaan, Waxing Halo, Live Grafitti, Kolkata Centre for Creativity Art and Sculpture and few others are a treat to the eyes.

For foodies, there are enough hot and fresh food covering a wide variety of cuisines, from street food to gourmet, to satisfy even the pickiest taste buds by Dosa Coffee, The Yellow Straw, Best Loaded Nachos, The Pancakes, Burma Burma Restaurant and others.

The special attraction of the event is A CALCUTTA STORY- a celebration of culture, cuisine and of dreamers weaving the transcendental identity of contemporary Calcutta. The installations have been set up at the Raajkutir Courtyard by Byloom, Obeetee Carpets, 145 East, Dev R Nil X Home Barn, Sourendro Soumyajit, Green Earth, Bobo Calcutta, Earthments, Chaats of India by Gokul Sweets and more.
